Pictures...

Here is the purple I bought. It's Colinette hand painted sock weight yarn. The purple is subtle shades of dark to not too light.

This was the first time I got to use a ball winder at the LYS. It was loads of fun. The Munchkin helped and he had a grand time.

I like this picture of the purple the best, my geranium is flowering.

These are my purple, some Magic Stripe [in front] called jelly bean stripe, a Paton's Variegated SWS (soy wool stripes) in natural geranium [behind that], and way in the back is one from the sale bin, a Lang Jawoll color sock yarn. It's a nice red and dark pink . The turquoise blue ones are some Brown Sheep Company sock weight. Loved that color.

Changes

I made some color and template changes today. I like this a lot better. I basically changed from the all pink to this one now. I was reading too many that had the same thing I did before, and I like to look/be a little different.
So, change is a good thing, right?

Still no pictures

I know the other day I promised pictures...they're coming. I have to hook up the camera and stuff.
No knitting has gotten done at all in the last week. I have gotten slammed with work, cleaning house (yeah right), laundry and baseball practice for the Big Munchkin started this week with games starting on Monday. Busy, busy, busy. Am going to be running around like mad the next few months with baseball and the Small One is going to go to swimming lessons in two weeks. Happy, happy Spring.

Been Too Long

Sorry it's been so long since I last posted anything. I've been oot (out of town) all last week (Spring Break for the munchkins) and the g-parent's computer was down. So there was no computer time for me all last week. And then when I got back, well, you know, work was waiting. So this is the first quiet time I've had to try and write anything.
I did get to start some socks and I finished one pedicure sock. I have yet to start the next one, I did take pics and when I hook up the camera to the computer, I'll post them. Maybe tomorrow if I get the time.
I also started some basic socks with the Lion Brand Magic Stripe yarn. I wanted to start with some basic relatively inexpensive, but I think okay yarn, and this seemed to do the trick. I have the bluish striped one and the really colorful one. So far I like it, but I've only done about maybe three inches, maybe.
I did get to go to my favorite LYS while away. But I was slightly disappointed in their sock yarn selection so I will not mention them here today. No props for disappointment. But I did purchase some turquoise and a purple (have pics -- see above reference to camera) hand dyed yarn. But their selection of wool and wool blend sock yarn was not too inspiring.
Last night I also started the ribbed halter from the Speed Knitting book of patterns, courtesy of my public library. It's been warm here, and I was inspired by the speed of the project and I had some cotton yarn in my stash that needed to be made into something.
So, with all the projects I've got going, and all the work I have to catch up on, I'll be busy for a while here.
So I guess I'll say good night then to all.
Have a happy morning tomorrow!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hey, it's Saturday.
And Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
What a great day here in the SW of the U.S., the green beer (yuck) is flowing. Well, it will be later today, corned beef and cabbage.
I learned how to add a button to my blog this morning (scroll down). A very empowering thing. Check it out, the site is pretty good, they have some interesting reads and some interesting free patterns.
You know when you have pattern you want to start and you can't find it, well that happened to me last night. I was looking for the
pedicure sock pattern and I know I printed it out, but could I find it in all my mags and pattern pile (which sits next to my side of the bed)...Noooooooo. So I had to print out a new one this morning, thus the acquiring of the new button on the page. As I found some good summer sock patterns too.
Hope all have a Great Day of wearing of the green.

Tuesday Ramblings

Well, it's Tuesday again. A short day for the Big One at school (every Tues. is a short day), so I always feel rushed on Tuesdays. But today I got to catch up on all my blog reads and see how all you guys are doing and how your weekends went. I should be working, trying to get something done before I have to pick the Big One up, but I think Spring Fever is hitting me. Everyone sounded so productive. I didn't get much done. We have a guest from Indiana visiting and we've been thawing her out by the pool! We are going out to lunch at one of my favorite restaurants, it has a great view of the mountains and the city.
Spring (almost summer) has arrived here in the Desert SW. We are close to the 90's today. It's a little too warm for me, too early. So...the weather is now forcing me to find all the sleeveless tops and tank patterns I like from my pattern stash and try to find some yarn (not in my stash -- I'll have to go shopping) to knit some with. I have all these plans for knitting in my head, but not very often do those plans go the way I want them to. So, we'll see what happens. When I go shopping I want to have a plan, so I'll find a couple of patterns that look fast, easy and interesting and buy accordingly. At least that's going to be the plan.
The only problem with the plan is that I have to wait until next week. The Big One, Small One and I are going to the g-parent's house for Spring Break and I love the LYS where they are, so I have to shop with a plan and a purpose. But I have to wait. I have no patience sometimes.
But I hope everyone is well. Have a happy day!

Got the Crud...

Everybody in my family has gotten this crappy, cruddy sickness that's floating around. Out here in the desert it's warm (I know don't rub it in), but it's too warm too soon. Anyway, I thought I escaped the crud, but nooooooo, I got it. Yuck.
Anyway, in the midst of all this stuff (to put it nicely) I've been trying to work and finish the basic socks and am working on the foot of the second one. When I get them done, I'll post picts. If you were reading earlier, they were supposed to be for me, but somehow gauge was messy and they ended up for the small one. But she's glad, they're her fav color -- purple. I also realized I messed up the heel so the heels will be different. Because the yarn was Encore worsted (from my stash), I'm not too upset and they were a good practice before I jump into the great, big world of socks (and pricey yarn).
I've got my eye on some good starter patterns, so once I get the purple ones done, then I'll start some more. Socks seem like a good warm weather project. As they don't sit on my lap with a lot of weight.
Anyway, hope to be better ASAP. (I don't like being sick.)

Computer Failure

It's soooo hard to rid yourself of the addiction of the computer. Mine died on Wed. Feb 28. May it rest in peace. But I did receive a newer, faster, better one on Saturday. Sooooo...I'm trying to catch up with all my cyber reads today as well as get some work done.
I did get to finish lots of little bits of projects that were just lying around the house:
  1. I lined all the bags I had completed (when I take picts I'll post them). By doing that I had to drag out the sewing machine and disrupt my room. And I still have to clean that up. (Today's project.)
  2. The floor got mopped.
  3. Four to five (I forget now) loads of laundry got done (and put away). A tremendous feat.
  4. The bed got made every day.
  5. The small ones beds got made every day.
  6. The kitchen was kept clean, i.e. dishes put away.
But...
no
actual
knitting
was
done.
