WIP Wednesday

I'm slowly working on my CPH. The sleeves of anything seem to take me a long, long, long, long, long time. When I've made some better progress on them I'll take a picture, but for now, you'll just have to picture it in your mind!
My socks are going just as slow. I thought I'd have plenty of time at all these baseball games and practices, but...I seem to get too involved and can't focus on the knitting! The Munchkin (the oldest) has got a great team this year. They're 4-0! He got to pitch last night and did a great job! Didn't let up any hits, and only let up 3 runs toward the end of his second inning! It's such a boost to his self confidence when he pitches well. The LittleOne has back-to-back games this weekend, so we'll see how she does! (I found out last night that she's the only girl in her whole division! Wow! Girl power there!)

Zoo Days

This week, the LittleOne's kinder class went on a field trip to the zoo! Our zoo is great. It's got all the regular zoo animals. And if you go now, it's not too hot so all the animals are out and about doing their thing! And you can get really close to the giraffes, so I always get great pictures of them! Every other animal has the fences which makes it hard to get good pictures.

Isn't he pretty? Our zoo has three giraffes, but he was the only one willing to pose for pictures!

And for you all still suffering from winter's wrath...here's a touch of spring!
Cactus Edit-- Well, I think I caught up with everybody. I haven't done any posting or reading of any of you out there for a while. It was good to see that spring is sort of getting to you all. Take care, and have a great weekend. (I'll be on the go all weekend!)

Does Ella look like the LittleOne's baseball team mascot?

I think so! Maybe not as mean though!

This weekend officially kicked off baseball season in the Cactus household. With two playing at different levels, I need something to keep me busy...so I cast on some socks. They're going to be the Pulsations Socks and I'm using some Opal yarn in the color neon, that I had bought sometime last year. With games for each at least twice a week as well as practice, I should knock these out in no time!

CPH Note: I finished the left side on Sunday, and started the sleeves! I'm doing both sleeves at once so they'll come out even. Have a great week!

CPH Update

I wanted to give you all a CPH update! And when I walked around the corner to get the pieces (in the orange bag), this is what I saw! Ella has made herself quite comfortable on the couch and draped herself around my knitting! (That's why I keep everything in a tote!)

So, here are my pieces. The center is, of course, the back, the piece on the right is the left front and the piece on the left is the right front. It's moving along nicely, but due to being sick, I haven't touched it for a few days.
This picture is without the flash. I think it gives a better idea of what the color is. With the flash it seems too bright. The yellow is more subtle in 'real' life.

It's amazing how much better I feel. It's funny, seems like once I said I was tired of being sick, my body listened! Although I still have a cough that doesn't sound like it could come from me! Thanks to all for the well wishes (I think that helps too).

Ode to Being Sick

I was attacked by a bug.
A cold? sure
The flu? sure
Allegies? yeah, whatever.
For a whole week!
Yuck!
I'm done.
I don't want to be sick anymore.

This being said, I haven't done much of anything around here for a week. Cleaning -- on hold. Knitting -- on hold. Spring skirts to sew -- on hold. Anything else -- on hold.

Hope you all are better than I! Happy Spring!

Springy Hat

Yarn: Kureyon, color no. 95 (I skein)
Modifications: Ribbing is 4 1/2 inches and the decreases are spread out a little bit to give a wider top.
Who For? EB (again, not the Easter Bunny) who lives where spring is cold and rainy to brighten her day just a bit.

She loved it and couldn't believe it only took me two days to knit!
Have a great St. Patrick's Day!
