What to do with this yarn Wednesday

Near the cactus house, one town over, there's a thrift store that every once in a while I can find something interesting. So...this past Saturday, I found these:

...for $5.00 each.

Now that I've got them, I have no idea what to do with them. Any suggestions?
The Red One: has no label on the inside of the cone; feels like fingering/lace weight; possibly wool with mohair (it's sort of fuzzy, but not overly so).
The Green One: has this label: Yarn Country Yarns, cashmere/wool, 50/50; the original price tag of 1.44 pounds, unit price of $38.50, total price $55.40; feels like fingering/lace weight, too.

Do they look feel the same? Maybe you've got two nice cashmere/wool yarns :) No idea how much huh? I would guess something like a couple thousand yards each (if not more like 3000) so you could get a lot of shawl out of these. Or double them up and get something a bit thicker. Scarves. Possibly a sweater or tank depending on actual amounts and whether you like the colors together. Hmm..hats with the doubled fiber could be really nice. Especially if these are soft.

No, they don't really feel the same. The green one is not as fluffy as the red. I like the idea of a shawl, I've never knit one before. I'll have to look around for an easy pattern. Thanks for the ideas!

A lacey shawl would be nice, you could make some socks perhaps?

Great find, though!

The things you can find when you're not really looking. :-) Looks like you got a great deal there.

I would probably do a scarf with them, but that's because it's pretty much the only thing I can do. Lacy scarf or lacy shawl, depending on how much you have. Maybe a pair of fingerless mitts.
