Back to School

My little butterflies are leaving once again to start a new adventure. First day of school here today. We're all ready. It's been a quick, but good summer and it's time to start that cycle of school once again.
(For all of you who say, 'Wow, that's early to go back!' they get out in late May, so it's been the requisite 2 1/2 months of summer vacation!)
(Edited: comment was correct, more like a little over two months.)

Holy Cow! It's June...

Can't believe it's June already! What happened to May? It seems like these days all I do is blink and then another month is over. I guess that's good, means we're busy, but still...wow!

Ella's had some friends over...
Here's Pudge, the pug, who has been staying with us this past week. I'd forgotten how hyper-cute pugs are. Ella has been tolerating him. Very difficult to get a non-moving picture of a pug!

And Coco the mini apple-dapple dachshund. Ella does like Coco. And, again, very difficult to get a picture of a quick moving dachshund.

Now....ta-dah! Pictures of works in progress....

My whisper cardigan. (Can you guess which visiting dog was curious about this and had it out of it's tote bag?)

My a-line skirt. It's coming along nicely. I'm at the second tan stripe of the front/back section. This is a quick knit, even though it looks detailed, it does move along quickly, so maybe I'll get it done this summer...here's hoping!

And my Frock Camisole. The yarn photographed more cranberry that what it actually is. (And can you guess which visiting dog got a hold of this yarn?)
So, there's the update on my WIP's. We've finished up both kids spring sports last night. My Munchkin's baseball team had a difficult season this year and almost (they were soooo close) to winning a playoff game last night, but lost by 1 point! Oh, well, there's always next year! My LittleOne's softball finished last week, too. So, now we're on to our summer activities of swim lessons, getting together with friends and possibly a vacation at the end of this month. Since summer break is pretty short out here (they start school in early August believe it or not!), we've got to squeeze a lot of activities in a two-month time period.
I'm going to keep on knitting and see what I can get done here in the next month or so. (And I'll try to take some more pictures and be a better blogger!)

Howdy!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I'm on vacation for a couple of weeks, but when I get back, I'll have a couple of FO's to show you all! (The A Good Bias, my perpendicular hat and a couple of others!)
Off to go do the tourist thing and hunt down a couple of yarn stores!
Take care and hope everyone is well!

Happy First Day of Summer

Well, according to the calendar, summer is officially here today!
Seems like it's been around for a month or so here in the desert, though. But...there is light at the end of the tunnel. My Hubby always looks forward to today, not because it's the 'official' start of summer, but because as he says, the days start getting shorter! Out here that's important as that hot, hot afternoon sun isn't beating down on us as long!
So...I hope all out there have a great first day of summer! And start enjoying those 'shorter' days!

Ode to June

I can't believe June is here already! What happened to May? Summer is here in full force in the desert! The days are starting toasty, but still somewhat cool when the sun goes down. Swimming lessons started today, so at least the kids get a little cooling off! Baseball is still going on, this week the Munchkin's (the oldest) team has the championship game for his division. His team has only lost 3 out of (I think) like 14 games (that's like an 11-3 record). So this past weekend they had the play-off games and won both of them. We'll see how they do on Wednesday! It's supposed to be hot this week, with the temps in the 100's (it's a dry heat, ha!), so I'll "pre-hydrate" him! (They still play in polyester pants! You'd think someone would invent/create a material that could breathe and still repel grass/red dirt stains.) The LittleOne has her last game on Saturday morning, so it'll still be somewhat nice!
Hope all are having a great day/evening/morning!

Later (this week, I hope) I'll have my Razor Cami to show you! (This is a Ravelry link. There's some issue with the pattern instructions, but at least you can get an idea of what I'm doing!)
