Well, here they are in all their glory, my first pair of toe-up socks (well almost, I've got to finish the second). I made them shorties (is that what you call them?) ending just above my ankle.
Adapted from Sensational Knitted Socks by Charlene Schurch (before it has to go back to the library).
The toe.The Lace Rib Pattern.
(With weird flash problem.)
The yarn is Cotton Ease by Lion Brand in terracotta (I know, it looks red, but it's a real pretty washed out orangy color).
It's just been too hot to knit much here, thus the slow progress on everything (and I do mean everything). And I'm trying to organize everything before going on vacation with the kids. Hope all had a great weekend.

Great work on the socks. I am currently working on my first pair of toe ups. I am afraid my pair has to make yet another trip to Frogville before I have success. The pattern I was using has a really pointy toe that I just do not like on my short stumpy foot. I have decided that I will never be happy unless I fix the toe. Rip it, Rip it.
Very nice! Great job on your first toe-ups!
Congratulations!
They look very nice.
Have a great vacation!
Hi! Thanks for the helpful comment on my knitting for my niece. I think I will wait until she is a little older and then knit what she likes. Great compromise. I like your socks and have been wanting to do toe up for awhile. You have inspired me. And finally on the the book "Friday Night Knitting Club" I couldn't agree more. I stopped reading at the end when I saw where she was going with the ending. Totally inappropriate. If you like mysteries there is a good knitting series out there and I will get the name of the author for you.
Those are cute!
love your socks .. I have to try that next ! I just used 2 circulars for the first time and like it.
Have a wonderful time with the kids!
They look great! I haven't tried a toe up pattern but I really want to.
Isn't it a relief not to have any Kitchener after all the knitting? I like that lacy pattern, it looks great. Have a good vacation, and try to keep cool!
These socks look really good, great pattern!
