Happy Monday to all!!
I finished The Friday Night Knitting Club and let me tell you, I was a little disappointed in the ending. For those of you who have not read it, I will not tell you what happens, only that I think it was not the best way to end what was, up until that point, a delightful book. I enjoyed the characters and how they integrated knitting into their lives, and it was a quick and easy read, but...I did not like the ending. It was almost as if the Kate Jacobs (the author) didn't know where else to go with it so she just...oh, yeah, I'm not going to say. So, read it and then you decide. That's all I'm going to say.Oh, and say good bye to my Monkey Socks...I don't have enough yarn to finish, unless someone out there has a part of a skein left of Lion Brand Magic Stripe in Jelly Bean that they want to donate (or trade???) to my socks? I need to finish the foot. I looked at the store where I bought my original skeins of Magic Stripe and they were all out of the jelly bean, and clearance pricing on the blue color I had used already.
But never fear, my creative gene kicked in late yesterday, or was that Saturday?, and I've got something else (or two, or three, or four) [projects] up my sleeve.
Hope all those hubby's out there had a great Father's Day yesterday, too. (Where would we be without them?) :)

Aw, what a drag about the Monkey socks... there must be some website SOMEWHERE that you can post to. I think I saw one called Yarn Karma or something like that the other night where people post yarn that they want to get rid of for free. The idea is that you get the good karma when you give it away and somewhere down the line you get something off the site that someone else gives away.
I totally agree about the ending - WTH?!! I wonder if the Julia Roberts movie will have a different ending?
Thanks a lot for this book review! I have this one on my "Have to read" list and well, I'm giving it another thought now because, well, I *hate* disappointing endings ;)
I'm so sorry to hear about your Monkey socks - fingers crossed that you'll somehow, perhaps through one of the commenters here, get one more skein of the yarn you'd need, it'd be such a shame if you'd have to let these goodie socks go ;(
How far have you knit the foot? Could you knit with some other compatible color? Most of the foot is in your shoe and isn't really seen. You could always google the yarn to find another shop in the US that has it. I've done that to find some Jo Sharp Yarn for a sweater. Good luck. And thanks for the nice compliments on my pictures.
I read the book this winter an felt the same way as you did.The end fell flat after such a nice start.. Yeah I agree with Tienne that I wonder if Julia Roberts movie will have same ending.
