Any Ideas Out There?

My birthday's coming up and I would like to know who recommends which sock book to buy myself for a present (I always buy myself something). I guess what I really want to know is what sock knitting books do you guys like and why would you recommend me buying it. It would be helpful as there are so many of them out there in the world to get some knitter's opinions on some of them. I know that I like the Nancy Bush socks, but which book there are so many. And I know there are many, many more out there.
Thanks for the help.

If I had to pick only one Nancy Bush book for socks I'd get Knitting Vintage Socks. If I only could get one sock knitting book I'd get the Intervweave Press book Favorite Socks.

I love all the Nancy Bush books (and own them all) but I don't knit too much from most of them.

Tough choice. I'd get two.

I agree. I'm thinking of getting two.

I just bought More Sensational Socks. This book is more a "design" your own sock book than patterns. It has patterns in it but the graphs take the math out of the designing process. You work a gauge and than kinda plug the gauge into the graph and they give you the numbers. I like this concept because I have a difficult time getting gauge. As much as I love Nancy Bush designs, I can't get my gauge to "fit" her designs. Are you knitting cotton socks in the desert yet? It is to get to 95 today in St. George.

I agree with the previous comment. "Sensational Socks" and "More Sensational Socks" are both great books. The Vintage Sock Book is very good too.I love your pics....so fun to look at.

I'll join the chorus here, "Sensational Socks" And its follow-up "More Sensational Socks" are certainly must-buys! ;)

I’d recommend the Interweave Favorite Socks book if you’re looking for more unusual patterns. If you don’t have the Nancy Bush Knitting on the Road book, I recommend that one even more—classic patterns that are still really interesting. The first "Sensational Sock" book is a great reference book--perfect for translating sizes / gauges.
